Does MosaicKB replace my existing documentation systems?

Our knowledge base can be used to augment or fully replace your existing documentation systems. It offers a full suite of tools to create, organize and share information, but it also integrates with existing platforms, to allow your team to continue using your favorite tools in tandem with our product.

Native functionality includes many of the same tools that exist in other systems—like collaborative document editors, file uploads, smart search, and content access controls. But MosaicKB also offers the ability to define jargon in context, surface information on people and organizations, post questions for others to answer, and create structured process documentation (including estimated time and any abilities required to complete various steps).

What makes this different from other knowledge bases?

MosaicKB bridges information gaps by connecting everything within your knowledge base in a way that offers helpful context. Define jargon as you read, or see estimated time required to complete a task.

A growing library of integrations allows users to search across multiple tools at once—scanning everything from Google Drive to code repositories—and smart search intelligently identifies concepts across different types of information. If you're having trouble finding what you need, you can post questions for others to answer, or easily identify team members with the skills or access to help. Finally, MosaicKB makes information easier to find by allowing content to exist in multiple spaces at once, rather than being tied to a location in a single folder.

Account Management

Can I control access to information within my organization?

Yes. Securely limit the visibility of sensitive information using role-based access control. “Spaces” allow you to organize information around a specific topic, and then share that information with select groups of users. But content access control can also be set at a more granular level for specific files.

All information created or linked in your knowledge base has three visibility options: Personal (visible only to the creator), Private (visible only to select users), or Public (visible to everyone at your organization).

Privacy

Do you share or sell data?

No, MosaicKB does not share or sell data for any purpose whatsoever, unless required by law.

Technical

How is my data secured?

Data security is something we prioritize heavily.

  • Any data uploaded to our system is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
  • MosaicKB uses logical separation in its database to keep data from each tenant private.
  • When we integrate with third-party platforms, we use oAuth 2.0 and encrypt any refresh tokens

Can I self-host MosaicKB?

Yes. If you prefer to run MosaicKB on premises, we offer a self-hosted option. This provides the same features as our cloud offering, but with the added benefits of running on your own infrastructure (even in air-gapped environments).

Does MosaicKB use cloud-based LLMs?

When running as an on-premises install, MosaicKB uses self-hosted, pre-trained LLMs. When running in our secure cloud environment, MosaicKB uses cloud-based LLMs to provide the best possible experience for our cloud-platform users.
